After which Arthur Batut published a book on the methods in 1890, thus resulting in the production of these early post cards.
When Samuel Franklin Cody developed a kite advanced enough to be used in military options, The British Armed Forces became quite interested. The designer then found a way to shoot moving pictures with the kite. After which, the camera was attached to an aircraft from which more detailed and distinct pictures and videos could be shot and recorded.
While pictures had been taken from air before War World I, it was during this time that the activity become popular with society. For, this new technology had the ability to take pictures and videos of offensive and defensive troops on the ground. As such, the technology was used in photography and sketching maps from the air. After which, the mapping and photos were used to create offensive and defensive strategies.
While there is a great deal of aerial spying still used by all branches of the military, the practice has now found a place in mainstream society. As a result, whether using a camera drone or taking pictures from an airplane, helicopter or hot air balloon, there are now laws which apply to all these areas.
With new laws related to height and locations in which these drones can be used, artists and hobbyists are now more limited. Before sending a drone up into the air with a camera or otherwise, it is important to check all laws and restrictions in the area. For, there are some instances that when flying within a range of a specific airport, building or location, that doing so could be considered a misdemeanor or felony, at least in the United States.
