Creating A Christmas Display Village Layout

By Larry Wright

Most people use Christmas village exhibition as their main decorations during Christmas. Such ideas require a lot of time and creativity to create an appealing exhibition. There are some aspects that one should take into consideration to meet such expectations. Below are thoughts on how to create a Christmas display village layout to ponder on.

Start by selecting an ideal location for the exhibition. An excellent exhibition place must be visible by the guests the moment they step inside your room. You can create a space near your space if the sitting room layout allows such consideration. The fireplace can also be suitable but fits for temporary displays. Ensure that the area is big enough and there is a socket to connect the lighting display.

Look for a suitable base. One can rely on a bookshelf, a hutch or a cabinet to place the exhibition. Any type of base is ideal as long as it offers enough support to the exhibition and is strong enough. Even so, you need separate plywood to shift the respective exhibition to a different place on an occasional basis. Use a white tablecloth to conceal the support of the base.

Make the landscape. Using a white felt drape is the easiest way to create a perfect view. You can use it to conceal every object that you use to create the view and create holes to pass through the electrical cords. You can also manipulate it into different shapes and creases to make different impressions. Make impressions of hills and curvatures using bowls and plates.

Lay down the tracks. This is the first main consideration that one should make. You should consider it first since one should conceal cables required to control the train. You can decide to set it around the display or through the exhibition depending on your layout. Create impressions of tunnels with hollow wooden frames and pass the tracks through them.

Place the buildings appropriately. The buildings that you decide on can set a stage story of a particular theme. Group the structures together along a street to create a perfect impression of a real village. Every building should have different uses. You can decide to set up a post office, a bank, a couple of businesses and some residential places. Do not be afraid to mix different buildings with different designs and sizes.

Light up the setup. Lighting up an exhibition makes it appear more real. Look for a long lighting cable with small bulbs to use in every structure. Such consideration will save the cost spent while buying different bulbs. Furthermore, this kind of lights are LEDs which are energy saving and do not require only one socket for connection.

Add a life scene. You should add miniature trees, people and animal figurines to create a lively scene. Creatively place them to make an accurate impression. Make the set up more creative by putting the people in various positions to indicate different activities such as removing ice and singing Christmas carols.
