A Chester County Interior Decorator Can Help With Home Storage

By Patricia Hughes

When it comes to making home a more livable place, there is a lot more to this process than aesthetics or visuals. Many who care about decorating may think that using matching colors or patterns in a room is a great accomplishment. While it may be good for showing off, there is also the comfort factor. Sometimes, the average person does not realize there are many possibilities when they talk to a Chester county interior decorator about the many options that are open to them.

Many think of decorators as a luxury for the rich or wealthy but this has changed greatly. Many working adults are consulting home designers to find out how they can make their space better. This can mean anything from choosing the right selection of colors to rearranging for more space to making rooms more friendly for kids and pets.

There are also times when buying a storage unit from a big box or home store is not enough. Sometimes, an individual has to dig deep and analyze why they do not have enough space. They are the only ones who can determine whether an item should remain as it is, be converted to a digital form, or be disposed of.

Instead of focusing entirely on visuals, more find that being a problem solver brings more rewards when dealing with a practical client. This is one who has children or likes their spaces simple. However, this demographic may have common issues like not having enough space or being unsure as to where that flea market find can be placed.

However, only because something does fit, it does not mean it is the right size. Many people buy cabinets and curios that are built horizontally because getting one that is tall is inconvenient or it is not available. When someone has high ceilings, it can be both a nice visual but inconvenient when choosing a compatible storage space or another object that requires reaching.

Built in cabinets are a good example of having too much vertical space. While a person needs enough to fit a pair of hands for reaching inside, anything more than a half foot in space waiting to be used. For the person who needs a quick fix, there are self installing shelving units that are inexpensive and some require no tools.

For example, red can be very stimulating and not always recommended for four walls in a room. Although blue has a calming effect, it may not be an individual preference. The happy medium may be to make the preferred color a ceiling color or use it as a secondary color. This really depends on how the room or space is to be used.

Colors and other visual renovations can be done for less money than most people think. While some may balk, they have to consider how long it would take if they were to take on the job themselves. As an experienced decorator may be able to accomplish the same task in a matter of hours, the convenience makes this service very much worth the money.
